Tottenham have received a big boost in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur are bracing for a crucial summer, where multiple changes are expected to happen in the current squad and also at the helm.

Regardless of the outcome in the Europa League final, Ange Postecoglou is perhaps wary of his fate. Daniel Levy has already started looking for potential managerial candidates to replace the Australian in the summer. Simultaneously, his recruitment team are scouring the market for new players that needs to be brought in as part of a squad revamp.

A versatile attacker has to be signed, owing to speculation surrounding the futures of Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Timo Werner. Son is heading into the final year of his contract and could be cashed in after experiencing sharp dip in form as well as fitness levels, while Richarlison is being eyed by his former club Everton. Werner, meanwhile, will return back to RB Leipzig after his loan deal expires.

Furthermore, James Maddison has suffered a serious knee injury that is set to keep him on the sidelines for up to three months. In possible search for attacking reinforcements, Tottenham have now been boosted in the pursuit of one of their summer targets.

According to a report from Football Insider, Crystal Palace could accept a bid lower than the release clause of Eberechi Eze amid Spurs interest. The nippy playmaker has a release clause of £68million in his contract which will become active again later this summer.

Rated as one of the most exciting creative talents in the Premier League recent years, Eberechi Eze has made some huge strides under Oliver Glasner, emerging as of the standout players for the Eagles this season. The England international is highly regarded in the Premier League and has played a crucial role in helping Palace qualify for the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester City.

Spurs are not the only interested party in acquiring his signature, unsurprisingly. Manchester City and Manchester United have joined the race for the 26-year-old, has scored 12 goals and registered a further 11 assists in 40 games across all competitions this term.

The aforementioned report adds Palace could accept a cut-price fee for Eze if satisfactory payment terms are tabled, with coach Oliver Glasner keen to have funds to rebuild the squad this summer if required.

Tottenham have lacked a versatile playmaker who can operate off the left and centrally as a No.10, which makes Eze an ideal target. At 26, the Greenwich native is perhaps heading towards the peak of his powers and could make an immediate impact at White Hart Lane if signed.

Palace will also not stand in the 10-cap England international’s way if he wishes to leave this summer. That said, bringing Eze to N17 would be an uphill task given the interest in the player, but Levy must not back off and go all out for him to make a statement of intent before the 2025/26 campaign commences.
