The lastest iteration of our Premier League team of the week is here. Who were the best individual performers from gameweek 28?

We saw big wins for Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, while teams such as Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Chelsea all succumbed to defeat.

GK: Jose Sa

Wolves have had a dismal season during the 2025/26 campaign, but Friday night provided their long-suffering fans with a reason to cheer. Jose Sa was one of their top performers against local rivals Aston Villa, making a number of top saves to secure a clean sheet.

In the process, Wolves broke the unwanted record of the lowest points total in Premier League history, set by Derby County in 2007/08. It has been a miserable season for Wolves fans, but their cloud has been afforded a silver lining.

RB: Jurrien Timber

Jurrien Timber couldn’t keep a clean sheet against Chelsea, but he was nothing he could’ve done about their goal – the Arsenal star was largely faultless.

On top of this, Timber also scored Arsenal’s second goal of the game, which would ultimately prove to be the killing blow to the Blues.

CB: Yerson Mosquera

Yerson Mosquera had to contain Aston Villa’s stellar attacking talent, which is no easy feat – nevertheless, he was up to the task.

Making a number of tackles, blocks and clearances against Wolves’ bitter rivals, Mosquera defended his box fiercely and was duly rewarded with a clean sheet.

CB: Jarrad Branthwaite

Given Everton’s less-than-stellar home record this season, a game against Newcastle United was never going to be easy, but Jarrad Branthwaite stamped his authority on the Magpies from the first whistle.

Despite failing to maintain the Toffees’ clean, Branthwaite made up for it by scoring a deft glancing header from a corner.

LB: Rayan Ait-Nouri

Manchester City kept the heat on league leaders Arsenal with a win over Leeds United at the weekend – Rayan Ait-Nouri was the Sky Blues’ star of the show.

Not only did he help Pep Guardiola’s men keep a clean sheet against a high-scoring team, Ait-Nouri also found Antoine Semenyo for the only goal of the game.

DM: Joao Gomes

Joao Gomes may not be at Wolves next season, with their inevitable relegation impending – nevertheless, he’ll leave them with some brilliant memories, with his strike against Aston Villa being the best of the lot.

He opened the scoring with a wonderful strike, meeting Adam Armstrong’s layoff with perfection – he also dominated the midfield to shut Villa out.

CM: Alex Iwobi

Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate trouble in the bottom five of the Premier League table – former Arsenal player Alex Iwobi was on hand to compound the Lilywhites’ woes.

Iwobi’s range of passing was phenomenal against Spurs, making no less than four key passes and scoring a goal in the first half to boot. Can Fulham make a late charge for the top seven?

CM: Mikkel Damsgaard

Mikkel Damsgaard was the player of the gameweek in terms of goal contributions – the Danish international scored two goals and notched up an assist against relegation-threatened Burnley.

Damsgaard scored both the first goal of the game and the winning strike – this match was his property from start to finish.

AM: Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson is swiftly becoming one of the most underrated wingers in the Premier League – if he keeps performing to such a high level, he won’t be underrated for much longer.

He stunned Tottenham by scoring the first goal of the game, then continued to provide a threat down the flank for the remainder of the game.

AM: Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has been the only player who has been consistently great for Manchester United over the entire course of the 2025/26 season – his performance against Crystal Palace was one of his best.

United struggled more than they should have against the Eagles, but Fernandes was on hand to score a penalty and notch up an assist along the way.

ST: Hugo Ekitike

Hugo Ekitike had been on a three-game scoring drought before Liverpool’s game against West Ham – as such, he was keen to make up for lost time.

He took advantage of the Hammers’ defensive frailties time and time again, scoring a goal and racking up a pair of assists in a 5-2 victory.
