The 2025/26 Premier League isn’t far away from its conclusion. This week, four teams did not play, due to the League Cup final – meaning that we won’t see any Crystal Palace, Wolves, Manchester City or Arsenal players this time around.

Nevertheless, we saw some big wins for teams such as Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland – but who made it into our team of the week XI?

GK: Caoimhín Kelleher

Caoimhin Kelleher continues to be one of the most underrated goalkeepers in the Premier League – he was flawless against Leeds United at the weekend.

Leeds put Brentford under some heavy fire as they looked to bolster their survival chances, but Kelleher made four saves to shut the Whites out at Elland Road.

RB: Jake O’Brien

That was a win that Everton fans won’t forget for a long, long time. Jake O’Brien had a tough task ahead of him in containing Pedro Neto and Marc Cucurella, but he kept the pair of them quiet over the course of 90 minutes.

He put his physicality and defensive acumen to good use against Chelsea, playing a key role in Everton’s 3-0 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

CB: Jaka Bijol

Leeds haven’t been enormously air-tight at the back this season, but Jaka Bijol can always be called upon to put forth a battling display from the heart of defence.

Leeds and Brentford both cancelled each other out – in particular, Bijol did his best to keep the dangerous Igor Thiago quiet. Thiago has scored 19 Premier League goals this season, but he couldn’t conjure one up against the West Yorkshire club.

CB: Ethan Pinnock

Everything Jaka Bijol did for Leeds against Brentford, Ethan Pinnock repaid the Whites in kind. A monolith at the back, Daniel Farke’s men simply couldn’t find a way beyond him.

Winning seven aerial duels and making some excellent challenges to deny the Whites, he was imperative in securing Brentford’s clean sheet.

LB: Neco Williams

Nottingham Forest compounded Tottenham’s misery when they crushed the Lilywhites at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Neco Williams was the star of the show, registering two assists and picking up a clean sheet.

In truth, Tottenham were tootheless, but don’t let this take anything away from Williams’ display. The Welsh international took advantage of Spurs’ lack of cohesion, shutting them down at the back and causing them all kinds of problems in the final third.

RM: Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson has been one of the most effective attacking players in the Premier League this season. He has 16 goal contributions this season – he picked up his latest goal against Burnley.

Despite falling behind in the second half, Fulham pulled their socks up and won by a score of 3-1, with Wilson netting their second goal of the game.

CM: James Garner

We’ve already touched upon one of the Premier League’s most underrated players earlier in the XI – but James Garner might be the most overlooked player in England’s top division at the moment.

Delivering a battling display from central midfield, Garner outplayed Chelsea’s all-stars – the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo could not keep up with the Manchester United academy graduate.

CM: Josh King

19-year-old Josh King was excellent on Saturday afternoon, giving Fulham fans plenty of reasons to be excited about his future.

Scoring a goal and registering an assist is usually enough for you to make it into our team of the week – and this week is no different. The World Cup will come too soon for him, but don’t be surprised if King ends up in the England squad before long.

LM: Iliman Ndiaye

Iliman Ndiaye might have lost his AFCON title with Senegal, but his spirit remains intact. He scored a wonderful goal against Chelsea at the weekend to give Everton their 3-0 lead over the Blues.

For all of Chelsea’s attacking talent, none of them could match up to Ndiaye on the day – a big money move might await him in the summer.

ST: Beto

Beto was back to his boisterous best on Saturday, giving Chelsea’s backline all kinds of issues as they lattempted to contain him.

Beto made a real nuisance of himself throughout the game, disrupting the Blues’ defence – he also scored a brace en route to Everton’s famous victory.

ST: Danny Welbeck

Does Danny Welbeck merit an England call-up? It has been almost eight years since he won his last cap for the Three Lions, but given his performances this season, we don’t see why not.

Welbeck gave Liverpool nightmares at the back – he first scored a thumping header, then tapped in an opportunistic second later in the game to give Brighton a much-needed home win.
