FC Barcelona was dealt a significant blow in their attempt to beat out Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for Joshua Kimmich. Reports have surfaced that the Bayern Munich board intends to meet with the veteran sometime this month.

With his contract set to expire in 2025 and the 29-year-old showing no signs of advancing negotiations for a new deal, the Bundesliga club may find itself in a position where selling him becomes a viable option.

Nonetheless, Diario SPORT reports that Barcelona are no longer in the race to land Kimmich, opening the door for PSG or Real Madrid to land the player should either club decide to pursue the deal.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Kimmich does not accept Barcelona’s offer. Negotiations have been halted between Kimmich and the Catalan side due to a disagreement between Barcelona’s offer and the German player’s financial demands.

Kimmich played in 43 matches during the 2023-24 season with Bayern Munich, managing to score two goals and provide 10 assists for the Bundesliga team. It’ll be intriguing to see if the seasoned player opts for a new adventure in the latter stages of his prime.
