PSG have won their third straight UEFA Champions League league phase game after their 7-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night at BayArena. The Parisians exploded out of the gate in Germany, storming to a 4-1 halftime lead after a thrilling first half.

William Pacho opened the scoring for the visitors in the seventh minute with a towering header, setting the tone for a wild sequence of events that followed.

Moreover, both sides were reduced to 10 men, and Bayer Leverkusen were awarded two penalties in the first half alone. Álex Grimaldo missed the first one, rattling the post in the 25th minute. Moments later, Leverkusen captain Robert Andrich was sent off after VAR caught him elbowing Désiré Doué.

PSG’s Illia Zabarnyi followed him shortly after, shown a red card for fouling Christian Kofané, who was through on goal. Zabarnyi had also given away the first penalty, and this time Leverkusen took advantage, with Aleix García slotting home from the spot to bring the score level.

That lifeline didn’t last long. PSG immediately turned up the pressure, and Doué struck from close range in the 41st minute to put the French side back in front. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then unleashed a thunderous shot off the post and in just three minutes later. In stoppage time, Doué curled in his second to make it 4-1 at the break.

In the second half, Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé returned after recovering from an injury suffered on international duty in September. He capped off the night with a goal of his own as PSG cruised to their third straight win, maintaining a flawless start to their Champions League title defense.

Furthermore, PSG made history due to this victory over the Bundesliga club. According to OptaJean, PSG’s victory marked their 12th Champions League win of 2025 (with two losses), matching the record for most wins in a calendar year set by Real Madrid in 2014 and Bayern Munich in 2001.
