PSG set asking price to sell Ibrahim Mbaye

Ibrahim Mbaye has become one of the most exciting young attackers linked with Manchester United during the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old is already a Senegal international and primarily operates from the right wing, although his versatility allows him to feature across the attack.

Mbaye came through Paris Saint-Germain’s academy after joining the French giants in 2018 and became the youngest player ever to start a competitive match for the club in August 2024.

He has since made 42 senior appearances for PSG, scoring four goals, while gaining experience at the highest level in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

His reputation grew further during the 2026 World Cup, where he scored against France to become the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history at 18 years and 143 days old.

Manchester United have already made their interest known, with the Red Devils among a huge number of European clubs considering a move.

United have demonstrated their willingness to invest in emerging attacking talent this summer by signing Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger has already made his senior United debut after coming on during the friendly victory over Leeds United at Croke Park.

Mbaye would represent another long-term addition, although PSG’s stance means securing his signature will not be straightforward.

According to Diario AS, PSG are asking for more than €50 million (£43m) to sell Mbaye permanently this summer.

The European champions are also prepared to consider a loan as they attempt to find the best solution for one of their brightest prospects.

Mbaye faces enormous competition for minutes, with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue and new signing Maghnes Akliouche among Luis Enrique’s attacking options.

Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Porto, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Aston Villa are all reported to have made enquiries.

His contract runs until 2028, meaning PSG must now decide whether to cash in, sanction a temporary departure or find Mbaye enough first-team football to keep him satisfied in Paris.
