PSG stance on future of Warren Zaire-Emery revealed

Manchester United’s midfield rebuild has been one of the biggest talking points of the summer, but there is a growing feeling inside Old Trafford that the job is still unfinished.

Despite the signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos to strengthen the engine room, Michael Carrick is understood to want one more midfielder capable of taking control in the biggest matches.

The Reds have explored several profiles over recent months as they look to complete that final piece, with recruitment staff continuing to monitor some of Europe’s most highly regarded young midfielders.

One player who has reportedly appeared on United’s radar is Paris Saint-Germain star Warren Zaire-Emery.

However, the French champions have now made their position crystal clear.

PSG stance on Zaire-Emery revealed

According to Djamel on X, PSG have absolutely no intention of selling Warren Zaire-Emery this summer and are counting on the midfielder as part of their plans moving forward.

The Ligue 1 giants reportedly view the 20-year-old as a player capable of climbing even higher within the club’s midfield hierarchy during the upcoming season, with those inside the club holding him in particularly high regard.

PSG are also understood to have no plans to alter their midfield department, believing the current options already provide everything required for the new season.

That stance could complicate Manchester United’s pursuit.

Reports in France recently claimed the Red Devils were preparing an opening offer worth around €60 million (£51 million) as Carrick searches for a third central midfielder.

United are believed to see Zaire-Emery as the final addition needed to complete their midfield overhaul.

Despite those reports, Djamel insists there has not been any recent contact from Manchester United.

While the Premier League club have admired the French international since his earliest academy years, there has reportedly been no fresh approach to either Paris Saint-Germain or the player’s representatives.

Zaire-Emery remains under contract in Paris until June 2029, leaving PSG in a commanding negotiating position.

The midfielder enjoyed another impressive campaign last season, starting 47 of his 54 appearances across all competitions as he rediscovered the consistency that first established him as one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Manchester United’s admiration remains genuine, but PSG’s stance suggests any move for Zaire-Emery will be extremely difficult unless something changes later in the transfer window.
