PSG winger Ousmane Dembele has explained why he left Barcelona in August.

Dembele admits the pull of Paris was decisive.

"PSG and the president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) had been interested for a long time. When I was in Dortmund (2016-2017) we started having the first contacts," he said.

"At that time my goal was to play forn Barcelona.

"There were also contacts in 2019 and then this summer. The president again showed that he really wanted to sign me. Then I spoke to the coach and Luis Campos. I immediately liked the project."

Asked if it was an easy choice to sign for PSG when coming from his best months in Barcelona, Dembl replied: "It was even my best two years, with a coach (Xavi Hernndez) who trusted me. But I wanted to sign for PSG. It was more Paris that made me change my mind than simply leaving Barcelona.

"I think, anyway, it was a little written that one day I would sign for PSG. I have many friends, supporters of the club, who always tried to convince me to come."
