Things got heated after the final whistle in the Leagues Cup final. Once the game between Inter Miami and the Seattle Sounders ended, players began throwing punches, and a brutal fight broke out at Lumen Field in Seattle.

The final scenes of the match are expected to make headlines for days. Inter Miami defender Maximiliano Falcón had Cody Baker in a chokehold while both teams exchanged insults. From that moment, tensions escalated: Miami center-back Tomás Ávila threw the first punch, and Luis Suárez spat at the opposing team's coaching staff.

This isn’t the first time Inter Miami players have been involved in a brawl this season. After the first-round Leagues Cup game against Atlas, Messi himself had a one-on-one confrontation with a player from the Mexican side.

Fans Calling for Immediate Suspension of Inter Miami Players

The video shows Inter Miami defender Maximiliano Falcón holding a Sounders' player by the neck, followed by Tomás Ávila punching an opposing player and Luis Suárez spitting at a member of the Sounders’ coaching staff.

After the incident, fans across the league are calling for immediate suspensions for the players involved, insisting that “MLS can’t let this one go.” Multiple posts on X are demanding strict penalties against Inter Miami players.

The only competitions left on the 2025 schedule for both Inter Miami and the Seattle Sounders are the MLS regular season and playoffs. At the time of writing, Major League Soccer has not issued a statement addressing the incident or indicating whether it will be thoroughly investigated.
