'Quite strange'- PR exercise suspected as £50m Tottenham star continues to be linked with summer exit

“We’ve heard about clubs willing to offer around £50m for Bergvall. No names were given. However, I found that story quite strange, especially as Bergvall only recently signed a new contract until 2031.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner added,

“Therefore, I don’t know if it was some PR exercise, but I wouldn’t read anything into those rumours. What a signing Bergvall has proved to be, and the future looks very bright for him. In addition, he’ll count as club-trained and homegrown in the years to come, which is great.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner insisted that it might be a ‘PR exercise’ and the transfer links should not be taken seriously. Wenham also added that Bergvall’s future is bright and he will also stay in North London for years to come.

Now, Daniel Levy must bring in reinforcements to provide cover for Lucas Bergvall in the heart of the midfield. The talented midfielder is going to be a crucial part of Thomas Frank’s setup at N17, and risking him for all the games would not be a wise move by the Danish tactician.
