Rabiot warns he might not be at Juventus next season

Manchester United and Newcastle target Adrien Rabiot warns even if Juventus qualify for the Champions League, he might not necessarily remain. ‘Even if I am not here next season…’

The midfielder had been ready to walk away as a free agent last summer only to then sign a new short-term contract that will expire in June 2024.

It was a surprise considering the Bianconeri had been excluded from Europe and docked Serie A points for financial irregularities, as it meant missing out on the top UEFA tournament.

“I remained because I wanted to remain, to help this team get back into the Champions League, and that is what the club asked of me too,” Rabiot told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we achieve that objective, then we will sit down and talk about it. That would certainly be better from my point of view, but we still have to discuss it.”

Juventus are on the verge of securing a top four finish, which would take them into the new expanded Champions League, while they have already qualified for the 2025 Club World Cup in the USA.

Rabiot was asked what his plans are for next season and kept everyone on their toes.

“At this moment we have to concentrate on the pitch and the games that need to be played. Everyone is concentrated on that objective, then there will be time to talk about it later.”

The France international was therefore pushed on what he wants for the future.

“To get back into the Champions League with Juve. Even if I am not here next season, my personal objective is to get Juve back into the Champions League and win the Coppa Italia. Then we’ll talk about it.”
