Boos were aimed at Raheem Sterling during Chelsea's 4-2 win over Leicester City in their FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Sterling started the game and had a big chance to score his ninth goal of the season in the 26th minute but he failed to convert a penalty kick.

The 29-year-old's spot-kick, which was low and central, was saved by the right leg of keeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

Sterling is not usually Chelsea's first-choice penalty-taker and some fans appeared to be frustrated that he had stepped up instead of Cole Palmer.

The former Liverpool forward angered home supporters again in the 75th minute when he missed the target with an awful free-kick.

Palmer was stood next to Sterling when he blazed a shot high and wide from 19 yards. The miss sparked widespread booing and jeering among the crowd.

Sterling was jeered again, albeit on a smaller scale, when he was substituted off in the 86th minute.

His replacement was Noni Madueke, who later scored a stunning solo goal in the eighth minute of added time to wrap up Chelsea's victory.

Marc Cucurella and Palmer had earlier fired the Premier League side into a 2-0 lead before half-time.

But a bizarre 35-yard own goal from Axel Disasi and a fine strike by Stephy Mavididi drew Leicester level.

The Foxes were then reduced to 10 men in the 73rd minute when Callum Doyle was sent off for a professional foul on Nicolas Jackson.

Leicester's 10 men held on until Carney Chukwuemeka slotted home from five yards following a beautiful assist by Palmer two minutes into added time.

Madueke then wrapped up the win in style in the 98th minute.
