An exclusive report in the Daily Mail today reports that Raheem Sterling could face a ban after being filmed throwing an object into the crowd on Monday night in the game against Spurs.

A missile was chucked at the celebrating Chelsea players after one of the goals, and as they wandered off, Sterling appears to have chucked it back (in a fairly indirect and non-aggressive way, it has to be said).

The Premier League of course have to take action on all these things, no matter how lightly they’re thrown, and we recently saw then Everton man Richarlison get a ban in similar circumstances – although that was with a lighted flair.

The Mail says that the FA have told them that the Sterling incident is being reviewed.

What makes this all even more frustrating is that it apparently comes from a video filmed by the club’s social media channels, who have effectively got their own player in trouble.

What a nightmare!
