RB Leipzig place massive price tag on Yan Diomande

Yan Diomande has gone into this year’s Africa Cup of Nations as one of the hottest properties in Europe.

The Ivory Coast striker has been in excellent form for RB Leipzig this season, with seven goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.

This includes a hattrick against Eintracht Frankfurt in early December and a run of three goals and three assists in three games in late October and early November.

His form has led to some of Europe’s biggest clubs being interested in acquiring his services.

One of these clubs are Manchester United, who are said to be keen on the 19-year old.

This is despite spending over £200 million on attacking talent this summer, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and former Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

Whilst Cunha and Mbeumo have impressed for United this season, Sesko has struggled to replicate the size of his price tag.

United could already be tempted to make a move for Diomande, who has age on his side and could be seen as one of the future at Old Trafford.

The Athletic’s German Football correspondent Set Stafford-Bloor has reported on X that RB Leipzig have maintained their position not to sell Diomande in January.

Leipzig are not against selling him in the future, with a price tag of £87.3 million willing to be accepted by the club in the summer if presented to them.

Should United make a move for Diomande in the summer, then he would be the third player in recent years to have played for both teams, in addition to Sesko and Cunha.
