Spanish media outlets reported that the Los Blancos are interested in bringing two players back to the club, due to the considerable amount of experience they possess. Both Varane and Casemiro spent a decade in the Spanish capital, playing 360 and 336 matches, respectively. They contributed significantly to Madrid’s four UCL victories between 2014 and 2018. However, they might face competition from Saudi Arabian clubs for the duo’s signatures.

Varane and Casemiro’s decline in performance has prompted speculation about their potential departure from Manchester United. Other than these two, a few other first-team stars could be sold ahead of the 2024-25 season, including Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Antony and Anthony Martial.

His stint at Stamford Bridge was lackluster, featuring only 100 appearances across five seasons. However, Barkley experienced a revival this season upon joining Luton Town on a free transfer, playing a vital role in their midfield across 20 Premier League matches.
