Mateus Fernandes continues to attract interest from some of Europe’s best clubs with the summer transfer window now just days away.
Even after relegation with West Ham United, those competing at the top of Europe’s best club competitions have expressed their interest in the midfielder.
Manchester United are amongst those with the club looking to recruit smartly in a bid for the Premier League title next season.
Kobbie Mainoo signed a new deal earlier this year, Ederson looks set to join the club, and the Red Devils are now pushing actively for Mateus Fernandes.
LaLiga serial winners and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also expressed an interest as Jose Mourinho looks to bring success back to the club after two seasons without a league title.
Madrid’s interest does not look to be a problem anymore, though, with journalist Samuel Luckhurst, via SunSport, reporting that the Spanish side are not expected to make any formal approach for the West Ham United midfielder this summer.
Luckhurst also states that Real Madrid expect Manchester United to sign Mateus Fernandes whilst subsequently revealing that Premier League champions Arsenal have cooled their interest.
Madrid and Arsenal were amongst ten clubs interested in the Portuguese midfielder heading into the summer. Inter Milan, Napoli, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Aston Villa are all also interested in Fernandes currently.
Those seven clubs remain alongside Manchester United although the club will be hoping that the West Ham midfielder is playing at Old Trafford next season in the famous red, white, and black of the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes has previously expressed an interest in the club signing Mateus Fernandes, something that could help in Manchester United’s pursuit of the midfielder.
United’s negotiations continue, with West Ham United valuing the midfielder at £80m, and the club will now look to close out the deal that will bring Fernandes to Old Trafford.
