Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been open about his doubts when it comes to Aurelien Tchouameni’s fitness, after the Frenchman suffered a foot injury against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final second leg. Now those doubts have turned into certainties of the wrong kind.

Los Blancos do have one final game to play before the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, with Real Betis traveling to the Santiago Bernabeu. He classified the game as preparation for the final and a chance to pay tribute to Toni Kroos.

“It is preparation for the final, we have worked well this week. It is the end of the league, we want to finish it well, it is a fantastic season, we have done well in the league from start to finish. This is the farewell of a legend of our club, you have to enjoy it, it’s an important day.”

“It’s been a well-deserved Liga, with a very high points tally, it’s been the simplest to manage in my career, because of the atmosphere, because of the squad, the players have done very, very well.”

The sour note for Los Blancos currently is the absence of Tchouameni, although he should be fit for France in the summer.

“He is ruled out for the final, but he is preparing for the Euros, he should be ready for that.”

Outside of Tchouameni and David Alaba, Ancelotti should have a fully fit squad to choose from, although there are few doubts about the line-up he will select. Thibaut Courtois and Nacho Fernandez were the two questions marks, but they look set to beat out Andriy Lunin and Eder Militao for a place.
