Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti shoots down Cristiano Ronaldo reunion talk

According to Alex Kirkland and Rodrigo Faez of ESPN, Edu Aguirre of Spanish late-night television show "El Chiringuito" said Monday that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wanted to bring none other than Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Spanish giants.

However, Ancelotti took to Twitter Tuesday to deny this story.

"Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and has all my affection and respect," Ancelotti wrote in a translated post. "I've never considered signing him. We look forward."

Ronaldo has long been linked with his former Spanish club, but Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved said in March the 36-year-old would stay with the Italian side at least through the expiration of his contract next summer. However, rumors recently surfaced that Paris Saint-Germain could sell superstar Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid and then buy Ronaldo to add him to an attack that already features Lionel Messi and Neymar.

ESPN personality and football insider Julien Laurens has since reported "Ronaldo is not an option for PSG this summer." The transfer window is open until the end of the month, though, so CR7 has time to pursue a move to a Champions League contender if he wishes.
