Real Madrid are reportedly keeping a close eye on Ibrahima Konate’s contract situation at Liverpool, with Marca claiming the Spanish giants could consider a move for the French defender on a free transfer next summer.

Konate’s current deal runs through 2026, but negotiations over an extension haven’t gone far. That’s sparked talk he might take a similar path to Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Madrid still in the market for defensive depth.

According to The Times’ Hamzah Khalique-Loonat, Konate’s agent caught Liverpool’s ownership group, FSG, off guard by asking for a 150 percent pay rise—raising his weekly wages to £200,000. That would make him the club’s third-highest earner, behind only Mohamed Salah (£350,000) and Virgil van Dijk (£220,000).
