Red Bulls sign D Andres Reyes through 2026
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Red Bulls and Colombian defender Andres Reyes agreed to contract extension on Thursday.

The three-year deal covers the 2024 through 2026 MLS seasons and includes an option for 2027.

"We are very happy to sign Andres to a new contract with our club," NYRB head of sport Jochen Schneider said. "Over the last three seasons, Andres has shown his qualities on the field and has helped our backline to be one of the best defenses in MLS and we are excited to keep him at the club."

Reyes, 24, has recorded two goals in 26 MLS matches (25 starts) this season, his third with the Red Bulls.

He ranks second in the league in interceptions (56), third in aerial duels won (105) and sixth in recoveries (199).

"Andres has developed into one of the top center backs in the league during his time with our club," head coach Troy Lesesne said. "We are thrilled to keep him and look forward to seeing him continue to be a leader in our backline."

Reyes has tallied four goals and one assist in 70 career matches (63 starts) with Inter Miami CF (2020) and NYRB.

He recently became a U.S. permanent resident and, starting in 2024, will not occupy an international roster spot for the Red Bulls.
