According to Il Corriere della Sera , referee chiefs believe that Inter vs. Milan official Daniele Doveri was wrong not to add stoppage time on Wednesday and should have shown Simone Inzaghi a red card for his behaviour towards the fourth official.
Referee chiefs believe experienced official Doveri made two errors in the final minutes of Wednesday’s Coppa Italia derby between Inter and Milan at San Siro.
A video showing Inzaghi angrily demanding to finish the game at minute 90 without stoppage time has gone viral on social media. According to Corriere, referee chiefs believe the Italian tactician should have been sent off for the way he addressed the fourth official on the touchline.
Furthermore, referee Doveri should have added time after minute 90 as stoppage time is not voluntary and should always be added regardless of the game’s result.
On the other hand, Doveri blew the final whistle just a few seconds after minute 90.
Inter’s loss against Milan ended the Nerazzurri’s treble dreams, but Inzaghi’s men remain in the race for Serie A and the Champions League.
