There are only a handful of days until the January transfer window closes, and Tottenham Hotspur has yet to make any additions or subtractions to the squad. However, they could be seeing a defender leave the north London club.

According to Sky Sports, AC Milan are interested in signing Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga on loan. The English media outlet adds that Tanganga has worries about his match time once Eric Dier and Christian Romero return from injury.

Tanganga has started 15 games in all competitions this season for Spurs, and the 22-year-old is under contract until 2025, so they don’t have to think about selling right now. Furthermore, with injuries and possible Covid outbreaks, Spurs might think about holding onto him past the January window.

Now, if AC Milan comes with an offer too good to refuse, Tottenham might reconsider. However, suppose manager Antonio Conte wants a more extended look at Tanganga.

In that case, a summer move might be for the young defender as the Italian tactician continues to examine which players will stick around on his squad.
