Kristjan Asllani has fallen out of favor at Inter Milan but will, nonetheless, join the pre-season squad at Appiano Gentile on Saturday.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Albanian international returns to Italy to sort out his future.
Deemed surplus to requirements, Kristjan Asllani will likely leave San Siro in the coming weeks.
However, the Nerazzurri have yet to sell the 23-year-old despite their intentions.
Indeed, the player’s high price tag has thrown a spanner in the works.
Asllani turned down a transfer to Real Betis earlier in the summer as he wants to stay in Serie A.
Yet, only a handful of Italian clubs can afford Inter’s €18 million price.
Unfortunately, such teams have shown no interest in the former Empoli midfielder.
Fiorentina had been keen on Asllani, only for Inter’s valuation to put them off.
Therefore, Inter must quickly find a solution.
Meanwhile, they’re working on offloading several other fringe players, including Mehdi Taremi and Sebastiano Esposito.
