Report – Arsenal Set To Rival Atletico Madrid For Inter Milan & Brazil Wingback

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto seems like a wanted man, with Arsenal joining Atletico Madrid in the race for his signature.

Per FcInterNews, the Gunners have set their sights on the 26-year-old after missing out on Theo Hernandez’s signing.

Indeed, Arsenal had tried to sign the Frenchman, only for Al-Hilal to blow them out of the water.

Furthermore, Theo’s move to Saudi Arabia has prompted AC Milan to open talks with Arsenal for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Therefore, Theo’s transfer could trigger a chain reaction, which threatens to affect Inter in a negative way.

Arsenal Join Atletico Madrid in Race for Inter Milan Ace Carlos Augusto

Inter have already rejected Atletico Madrid’s attempt to take Carlos Augusto to the Metropolitano Stadium.

Indeed, new boss Cristian Chivu holds the Brazilian in high esteem and plans to give him a prominent role next term.

Chivu’s appreciation has been plain for everyone to see during the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, Arsenal seem unfazed by Inter’s stance and could soon test the waters.

Augusto has never shown ambition to leave the San Siro, and that’s hard to change after Chivu’s arrival.
