Atalanta’s Ederson is the “dream” signing for Inter Milan to replace Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are bracing for the possibility that Hakan Calhanoglu could leave this summer.
The Nerazzurri know full well that Galatasaray are keen to sign the 31-year-old. And they are just waiting to see if the Turkish champions make an offer.
Therefore, in the meantime, Inter are planning for the possibility of a future without Calhanoglu.
According to Tuttosport, Inter’s intention would not be to sign a like-for-like replacement for Calhanoglu.
The Turk has been a vital player for Inter over the last few seasons. He has played as a deep-lying playmaker at the base of the Nerazzurri’s midfield.
But rather than moving for a holding midfielder with a similar profile to Calhanoglu, Inter would look to replace the former AC Milan midfielder with something a bit different according to Tuttosport.
The Turin-based newspaper anticipate that Inter would want a more physical midfielder than Calhanoglu.
And the ideal player in the Nerazzurri’s view would be Atalanta and former Salernitana midfielder Ederson.
