Report – Atletico Madrid Set Sights On Inter Milan & Italy Midfielder Previously Linked With Napoli & Roma

Inter Milan star Davide Frattesi has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Los Rojiblancos’ first attempt to sign the Italian fell flat.

Indeed, Atletico tried to include Giuliano Simeone as a makeweight in a deal for Frattesi.

However, their proposal fell on Inter’s deaf ears.

For the time being, the San Siro giants look reluctant to negotiate the 25-year-old’s departure.

Davide Frattesi was close to leaving Inter last winter, only for the club to sabotage his transfer to Roma.

Still, he would’ve probably left San Siro had it not been for Simone Inzaghi’s exit.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s arrival has flipped the script, offering the former Sassuolo midfielder a lifeline.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid see Frattesi as an upgrade on their current midfield options.

Moreover, they could soon part ways with Rodrigo De Paul, who has entered the final year of his contract.

Despite reports linking Inter with the Argentine, he is no longer on the club’s radar.
