Report: 'Beautiful footballer' available on a bargain, Tottenham are 'closely monitoring' him

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Kyle Walker Peters ahead of a potential move this summer.

The 28-year-old has decided not to sign an extension with Southampton, and he will leave the club on a free transfer. He is available on a bargain, and Tottenham are not the only club keen on him.

Multiple clubs keen on the defender

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham, Chelsea, West Ham United, Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton, and Crystal Palace are “closely monitoring” his situation.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can win the race for his signature. He would be an exceptional acquisition for them. The defender knows the club well, and he could settle in quickly. They need more depth in the defensive unit, and the 28-year-old is capable of operating on either flank. He has been described as a “beautiful footballer” by Russell Martin.

Tottenham return could tempt Kyle Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters could be tempted to return to his former club as well. Tottenham have Champions League football on offer, and that makes them an attractive destination.

The defender will want to compete in the Premier League next season. He is too good for the championship, and therefore, the interest from the Premier League clubs will be quite attractive for him. It will be interesting to see what he decides in the coming weeks. He is clearly a player in demand, and he has the ability to make a difference at the highest level.

It will be interesting to see how Tottenham convince him to join the club. They already have players like Pedro Porro and Djed Spence. The 28-year-old will not want to sit on the bench at Tottenham. They will have to provide him with regular opportunities in order to convince him to join the club.
