Serie A minnows Cagliari have reportedly intensified talks with Inter Milan over fringe center-forward Sebastiano Esposito.

According L’Unione Sarda via FCInterNews, contacts between the two clubs have become more frequent in recent hours.

Inter have put Sebastiano Esposito on the market, along with several other out-of-favor stars.

However, they’ve been unable to offload any of them so far.

Esposito has drawn inquiries from Fiorentina and Cagliari, but talks with Inter have yet to take off.

Cagliari Step Up Talks to Sign Inter Milan Misfit Sebastiano Esposito

Cagliari have overtaken Fiorentina in the race for the 23-year-old.

Yet, they’ve not made much progress in negotiations with the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, the clubs have been at odds regarding the deal formula.

While Inter prefer to sell the Italian striker immediately, Cagliari would ideally take him on loan with an option to buy.

However, the Sardinians may change their stance.

New manager Fabio Pisacane reportedly views Esposito as a massive attacking addition.

Esposito’s exit could be the first of many, with Inter expecting to offload Mehdi Taremi, Kristjan Asllani, and Yann Bisseck.
