Reports in Turkey claim that Hakan Calhanoglu has asked Inter to join Galatasaray this summer: ‘Let me go home.’
Inter midfielder Calhanoglu wants to join Galatasaray this summer and has reportedly informed Inter about his desire to leave.
According to Sabahspor, the experienced midfielder has told Inter directors: “I joined the club for free four years ago and I’ve given my best. I want to continue my career at Galatasaray, and I ask for your understanding. Let me go home.”
Football Italia reported earlier this month that Inter were unwilling to let Calhanoglu leave on the cheap this summer.
The 31-year-old is under contract at San Siro until June 2027.
Inter have already signed Petar Sucic in central midfield this summer and recently sent an offer for Lazio midfielder Nicolò Rovella, but the Biancocelesti won’t sell the Italy international unless his €50m clause is met.
A further hint that Calhanoglu wants to leave Inter for Galatasaray awkwardly came from the midfielder’s barber, who shared a picture with the Inter midfielder on Sunday, writing: ‘Is it about to happen?’
Calhanoglu is currently injured and has not participated in the Club World Cup so far.
