Inter Milan starlet Petar Sucic will reportedly start Wednesday’s Champions League showdown against Ajax in Amsterdam.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old will return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench against Juventus.

Petar Sucic was part of Inter’s starting XI in the first two Serie A games against Torino and Udinese.

However, Cristian Chivu decided to bench him in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia in favor of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Petar Sucic to Start for Inter Milan vs Ajax

Sucic came on as a late substitute, replacing Hakan Calhanoglu in the 81st minute.

Yet, the Croatian youngster will soon regain his place in the starting eleven.

Though the report fails to specify whom Sucic will replace, it will likely be at Mkhitaryan’s expense.

However, it’s hard to exclude the possibility of Nicolo Barella dropping out after an erratic performance against Juventus.

Indeed, the diminutive midfielder was merely a shadow of his former self in Turin last weekend.

Therefore, Chivu may decide to bench the Italian superstar in Inter’s Champions League opener.
