Former Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti has been extubated and is able to breathe freely while in hospital for a pneumonia scare.

This according to Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, via FCInter1908.

On Wednesday, legendary former Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti was admitted to hospital due to breathing problems resulting from pneumonia.

The 80-year-old required intubation to stabilize his condition.

Moratti was Inter Milan President between 1995 and 2004, and then against between 2006 and 2013.

During Moratti’s time at the helm, the Nerazzurri won multiple trophies. Most notably, he was President when the club won the European Treble during the 2009-10 season.

According to Il Giorno, Moratti has been exutbated in hospital.

The 80-year-old is still under observation, as he continues to recover from his health scare.

However, Il Giorno reports, former Inter Preisdent Moratti has seen his condition improve significantly.

Therefore, the 80-year-old could soon be discharged from the hospital if his condition is to continue to improve over the coming days.
