Less than 48 hours remain before Inter Milan and Monterrey face off in their opening Group E fixture at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, new manager Cristian Chivu will miss several first-team stars on the opening day.

Stuck in Tehran, Mehdi Taremi cannot leave his homeland due to an ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

Therefore, the 32-year-old will not be part of Inter’s Club World Cup squad.

However, his absence is the least of Chivu’s problems.

Five Inter Milan Stars Trained Separately from Team Ahead of Monterrey Clash

Yann Bisseck will likely miss the entire group stages.

Indeed, the German defender remains out with a thigh problem.

Furthermore, Chivu will be without midfield stars Hakan Calhanoglu and Piotr Zielinski.

The former has failed to regain full fitness amid intense speculation linking him with Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, fatigue has caught up with Davide Frattesi, who won’t be at Chivu’s disposal.

In attack, Francesco Pio Esposito is unavailable after sustaining an injury toward the end of Spezia’s Serie B campaign.

Indeed, all five players trained separately from the group yesterday.
