Report – Inter Milan Captain Facing Month-Long Spell On The Sidelines Due To Calf Injury

Inter Milan talisman Lautaro Martinez suffered a calf injury during last night’s Champions League outing at Bodo/Glimt.

According to Calciomercato via FCInter1908, El Toro could be facing a month-long spell in the pits.

Cristian Chivu had to sub off his captain midway through the second half.

Furthermore, cameras caught the Argentine striker holding his thigh shortly after the break.

Meanwhile, Chivu confirmed during the post-match conference that Lautaro’s injury looked ‘serious.’

Inter Milan Star Lautaro Martinez to Be Out for One Month

Lautaro Martinez has been Inter’s standout performer this season, scoring a league-high 14 goals in Serie A.

Therefore, Cristian Chivu will need someone to step up in his absence, especially in the return leg against Bodo/Glimt.

Indeed, it’s a near-certainty that Lautaro will miss next week’s showdown at San Siro.

Moreover, he could be out for a month, meaning he might also skip Inter’s home clash against Genoa at the end of February.

With Lautaro out, now would be a perfect time for Marcus Thuram to hit his stride.
