Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has reportedly urged the club to sign Parma youngster Giovanni Leoni.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri cannot chase the teenager before selling several fringe players.
Giovanni Leoni has been on Inter’s radar since the beginning of the summer.
However, talks with Parma have yet to gain momentum, as Chivu’s men have focused on addressing other priorities.
Furthermore, last season’s Serie A runners-up are currently trying to sign Ademola Lookman.
Only after signing Lookman will Inter turn to other targets.
Yet, Leoni’s arrival will only be possible if the Nerazzurri manage to offload several out-of-favor players.
Indeed, Lookman’s transfer will empty the club’s coffers, forcing Inter to raise funds for further additions.
Chivu has already put numerous fringe stars up for sale.
However, the Italians have been unable to find new clubs for players like Kristjan Asllani and Mehdi Taremi.
Furthermore, they’re hoping to sever ties with Yann Bisseck, whose exit would secure the cash for Leoni.
