Negotiations between Inter Milan and Atalanta over Ademola Lookman are not progressing smoothly, but there’s a reason for optimism.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri will resume talks from a position of strength.

Despite Atalanta’s firm stance, there’s a feeling that Ademola Lookman will soon become a new Inter player.

Indeed, the player has an overwhelming desire to continue his career at San Siro.

Furthermore, he already has an agreement with the 20-time Italian champions over personal terms.

Inter Milan Have Upper Hand on Atalanta in Ademola Lookman Talks

Discussions are currently on hold as Inter refuse to meet Atalanta’s €50 million asking price.

However, they’re ready to offer €40m, as they already did, and it may eventually prove enough to seal the deal.

With the player’s contract in Bergamo set to expire in 2027, time is ticking away for La Dea.

Indeed, they can ill-afford to let the Nigerian enter the final year of his contract.

That would significantly weaken their position and minimize their profits.

Therefore, time is on Inter’s side.
