Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi will reportedly undergo abdominal surgery to correct an inguinal hernia.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has been suffering from a nagging abdominal issue.

The problem first arose during Inter’s Champions League tie against Barcelona.

Frattesi had tried to play through the pain at times during the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Frattesi also travelled with the Inter squad to the United States for the Club World Cup.

However, Frattesi was not able to play at the Club World Cup.

Therefore, last week, the former Sassuolo midfielder left the US. He returned to Italy to recover from his injury.

According to the Gazzetta, the issue for Frattesi is an inguinal hernia. That is an injury between his abdominal and groin area.

And the newspaper anticipate that the 25-year-old will have to go under the knife. That should hopefully be able to finally allow Davide Frattesi to actually put the injury behind him.
