Davide Frattesi and Nicolo Rovella could be subjects of a high-profile swap deal between Inter Milan and Lazio.
Per Il Messaggero via FCInterNews, the two Serie A giants could engineer a blockbuster exchange this summer.
Inter are seemingly bracing up for life after Hakan Calhanoglu.
Heavily linked with a transfer to Galatasaray, the 31-year-old could soon end his four-year association with the Nerazzurri.
Therefore, Beppe Marotta is in the market for midfield reinforcements.
Nicolo Rovella is Inter’s top target to replace the former AC Milan playmaker.
However, his substantial €50 million release clause remains a huge roadblock.
As such, Marotta has come up with a shrewd plan to overcome this obstacle.
Indeed, Inter would offer Davide Frattesi in exchange for the 23-year-old to avoid breaking the bank.
Yet, there’s a catch.
Frattesi earns around €2.8m net per season at the San Siro, which is €1m more than Rovella’s wages in Rome.
At the very least, Lazio president Claudio Lotito sees this as a fair deal, as he puts Rovella on a par with the ex-Sassuolo star.
