Inter Milan have reportedly not given up hope of signing Parma center-back Giovanni Leoni despite a high price tag.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri remain firmly in the race for the 18-year-old.
However, competition for the youngster’s services is as fierce as it gets.
Indeed, AC Milan and Juventus are also in the mix, while several Premier League clubs have recently joined the race.
After Liverpool, Manchester United are now keen to land Giovanni Leoni.
Inter’s focus remain on Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, who will cost at least €40 million.
Meanwhile, Parma have made it clear they would only sell their up-and-coming defender for a similar figure.
Lookman’s arrival would empty Inter’s bank accounts, making it impossible to meet Parma’s asking price.
Therefore, Inter must raise funds from player sales.
Cristian Chivu’s men have put several fringe players on the market.
Indeed, Kristjan Asllani, Mehdi Taremi, and Sebastiano Esposito are on the chopping block.
However, Inter haven’t been able to sell any of them so far.
