Inter Milan have no plans to sell striker Marcus Thuram despite rumours of a behind-the-scenes rift with Lautaro Martinez.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
Marcus Thuram has reportedly not taken recent comments from his teammate Lautaro Martinez well.
Martinez did not hold back in his remarks after Inter’s Club World Cup exit against Fluminense.
Whilst Martinez had clearly been aiming his word first and foremost at Hakan Calhanoglu, that doesn’t mean that other Inter players didn’t feel the heat as well.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, Inter are hardly going to offload Marcus Thuram over whatever difficulties he may have with Martinez on a personal level.
Of course, if Thuram were to ask for a transfer then he could go. And the Frenchman does have an €85 million release clause in his contract.
However, reports the Gazzetta, Inter expect Thuram to patch things up with Martinez.
Therefore, the plan remains very much to have the France international in the squad for another season.
