Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi has rejected a move to Botafogo, and prefers to join a club in La Liga.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi has been at the centre of a number of transfer rumours in recent weeks.
The 33-year-old had a very underwhelming first season at Inter. Therefore, there is a widespread feeling that he will be on his way after just one year at the club.
There have been plenty of clubs to show an interest in Taremi’s signature.
All of Besiktas, Porto, West Ham United, Fulham, and Leeds United reportedly see the Iranian as a target.
However, a new name as also entered the mix. Brazilian club Botafogo are reportedly keen on a surprise swoop for Taremi.
According to La Repubblica, however, Taremi himself is not keen on a move to Botafogo.
The Iranian has turned down the Brazilian club. His preference is to join a different club in Europe.
La Repubblica report that Taremi’s representatives have been in contact with a few clubs in the Premier League.
However, the newspaper anticipate, Taremi’s actual preference would lie elsewhere. He is hoping for a move to a team in La Liga.
