Report – Inter Milan Reignite Interest In Genoa Star As Atalanta & Lazio Stars Too Expensive

Inter Milan are in the market to replace the exit-linked Hakan Calhanoglu, with Morten Frendrup re-emerging as a potential target.

Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants have rekindled their interest in the Genoa star.

Preparations for life after Hakan Calhanoglu are well underway.

Indeed, Inter have cast a wide net in their pursuit of a suitable replacement.

Atalanta’s Ederson and Lazio’s Nicolo Rovella are the club’s top targets.

However, they’re both out of Inter’s price range.

Inter Milan Rekindle Interest in Morten Frendrup to Replace Hakan Calhanoglu

With Atalanta and Lazio looking to price Inter out of a deal for Ederson and Rovella, Frendrup’s name is back in fashion.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri considered the Dane a potential midfield addition last summer.

However, Genoa refused to negotiate the sale.

Inter could force them to change their mind this summer, especially now that they’re close to losing Calhanoglu.

Though Frendrup could be a decent coup, he’s a different type of player.

Despite his sporadic attacking forays, the 24-year-old is a defensive-minded midfielder.

Therefore, it’s questionable whether he’d be a suitable replacement for the Turkish star.
