Inter Milan are reportedly set to raise their offer to Atalanta for forward Ademola Lookman in the next few days.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews.
The transfer soap opera between Inter, Atalanta, and Ademola Lookman has dominated the headlines over the last couple weeks.
The Nigerian international very publicly demanded a transfer to Atalanta last weekend. This after Atalanta had rejected a second offer from the Nerazzurri.
Then, Lookman took things a step further. The 27-year-old – who had already scrubbed all traces of Atalanta from his social media accounts – began no-showing training.
There’s no indication that Lookman plans to return to training for Atalanta.
The player is determine to force through the move to Inter, as he believes that La Dea had promised as much last summer.
Clearly, Inter are hoping that Lookman’s antics can force Atalanta’s hand.
The former RB Leipzig forward is doing everything he possibly can to make the situation unbearable for his club.
But in the meantime, Inter will also increase their offer for Lookman.
Reportedly, Atalanta have never given Inter a firm counteroffer or valuation for the Nigerian international. This has made it tough for the Nerazzurri to gauge what to offer next.
Nevertheless, reports La Repubblica, Inter will up their bid in the next few days.
Clearly, the timeline is starting to get tighter if Inter want to wrap this drawn-out transfer saga up.
