Report – Inter Milan To Swoop Now For Valencia Defender & Postpone Pursuit Of Parma Jewel

Inter Milan will soon intensify their pursuit of Valencia center-half Cristhian Mosquera to bolster their defensive options.

Per Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Serie A runners-up have devised a strategy to sign the 20-year-old.

Parma starlet Giovanni Leoni tops Inter’s wishlist, but the Crusaders are reluctant to negotiate his sale this summer.

Indeed, they’d ideally keep hold of the 18-year-old for at least one more season.

Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu is desperate for a reunion as he seeks reinforcements at the back.

Leoni’s arrival would set Inter back around €30 million, making it a complicated deal, given the current financial state.

However, the Nerazzurri hope to leverage the youngster’s desire to work under Chivu to get Parma to sanction the move.

Furthermore, Beppe Marotta understands the basic principles of transfer dealings.

He realizes the importance of a position of strength.

Therefore, he plans to pursue Cristhian Mosquera only after convincing Parma to sell Leoni.

Mosquera’s contract at Valencia expires next summer, which only adds to Inter’s confidence in luring him to the San Siro.
