Inter Milan and Lazio could arrange a massive swap deal that would see Davide Frattesi and Nicolo Rovella shift allegiances.

Per Il Messaggero via FCInter1908, this complex exchange would see Inter replace the exit-linked Hakan Calhanoglu.

Galatasaray have recently accelerated their quest to sign the 31-year-old playmaker.

Therefore, the Serie A runners-up are frantically searching for replacements.

Nicolo Rovella has quickly emerged as a perfect candidate, but taking him away from Stadio Olimpico could prove rather complicated.

As such, Beppe Marotta must reach out for his bag of tricks again.

With Lazio insisting on Rovella’s €50 million release clause, Marotta has to be creative.

Indeed, Inter cannot afford such a hefty figure amid an ongoing effort to sign Ange-Yoan Bonny and Rasmus Hojlund.

Therefore, a swap deal could be a solution, with Davide Frattesi likely to fall victim to Inter’s pursuit of Calhanoglu’s heir.

Rovella has been outstanding in Rome, and the Biancocelesti are understandably against his sale.

Furthermore, there’s a reasonable skepticism over the club’s ability to find a suitable replacement for the 23-year-old.

However, this way, Lazio would get a proven midfielder in return.
