Simone Inzaghi reportedly wants to bring Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi to Al-Hilal this summer transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the Saudi club have not made Inter an official offer yet, however.

Coach Simone Inzaghi left Inter Milan to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal last month.

The 49-year-old decided to prioritize the cash on offer in Saudi Arabia rather than continuing to coach at a high level in Europe.

After Inzaghi made the switch to Riyadh, a big question has been whether he would target any of his former players at Inter.

Inzaghi Wants Inter Defender Francesco Acerbi At Al-Hilal

According SportMediaset, there is one player in particular who Inzaghi would like to sign from Inter.

Veteran Italian international defender Francesco Acerbi has been a trusted lieutenant of Inzaghi for a long time.

Inzaghi had worked with Acerbi for several seasons at Lazio. Then, he pushed to bring the former AC Milan and Sassuolo defender to Inter in 2022.

Inzaghi then made Acerbi the central figure of Inter’s back three.

The 37-year-old is therefore a player who Inzaghi would be keen to bring to Saudi Arabia. He wants the veteran defender as a reliable presence at the back.

Mediaset report that so far, Al-Hilal have not made any bids to Inter.

However, the broadcaster anticipate, there is every chance that an offer will arrive soon.
