Midfielder Davide Frattesi is targeting a return to fitness in Inter Milan’s Serie A opener against Torino.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has been dealing with a persistent abdominal problem.
The former Sassuolo midfielder suffered the issue during Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
Specifically, Frattesi suffered an inguinal hernia. This plagued him through the last few weeks of the season.
Furthermore, the Italian international was unable to feature at the Club World Cup. He returned early from the United States.
Therefore, in the end, Frattesi underwent surgery to correct the issue earlier this month.
Davide Frattesi has been back in training for around a week following his surgery. However, he has only been working individually.
Therefore, the 25-year-old will not be available for Inter’s friendly clash with Monza tomorrow.
Nor is there a chance of seeing Frattesi in action for Inter’s last friendly of preseason, against Olympiacos.
However, the Corriere dello Sport report, Frattesi is targeting a return for the start of the Serie A season.
There are still a couple weeks to go before Inter kick their campaign off with a match against Torino.
And Frattesi is hoping to return to full training and be available for that match.
