Outgoing Lille ace Jonathan David reportedly prefers to join Inter Milan over Napoli ahead of a potential transfer tug-of-war.
Per Gazzetta.it via FCInter1908, the Canadian striker has his heart set on linking up with the San Siro outfit.
David’s contract at Lille is due to expire.
Therefore, he’s one of Europe’s most sought-after prospects, with numerous top clubs vying for his signature.
However, Inter could already be ahead of the queue despite a strong foreign interest.
Indeed, the 25-year-old reportedly sees the San Siro as an ideal destination.
Napoli have recently tried to accelerate their attempts to sign Jonathan David.
However, Aurelio De Laurentiis has pulled the plug on the deal after being informed of the player’s desire to join Inter.
Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi could use a striker of David’s characteristics, especially now that Mehdi Taremi could leave the club.
Taremi swapped Porto for Inter last summer on a Bosman deal.
Yet, he has failed to settle in Serie A and could depart the Nerazzurri sooner than expected.
David would be a perfect replacement, though Inter may need to allocate up to €5 million net per season for his contract.
