Report: Liverpool told they can sign ‘brilliant player’ for just £70 million this summer

According to Football Insider, Liverpool can sign West Ham United attacker Mohamed Kudus for £70 million.

The Premier League leaders are showing interest in the Ghana international star due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.

Having agreed new deals with Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, the Premier League giants are looking to identify their target.

Arne Slot, who has spent little money so far as the manager of the Merseyside club, is expected to be busy this summer with additions expected in attack, midfield and defense.

Kudus has an £80 million release clause in his contract, as per the report, but he could be allowed to leave the club for £10 million less than that.

Kudus, 24, has impressed with his ability to play across the front line and his experience in the Premier League, making him an attractive option for Liverpool.

The biggest Premier League clubs have taken notice of his performances for the Hammers.

Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax for a fee of around £38 million, and his current contract runs until June 2028.

Despite a challenging season for the Hammers, Kudus has managed to contribute with goals and assists.

Mohamed Kudus to Liverpool?

While Liverpool are interested in Kudus, he is not currently their top priority. The club is exploring various options to strengthen their squad, especially in light of potential departures of key forwards.

West Ham’s willingness to accept a lower fee for Kudus may be influenced by their financial considerations and the need to balance the books.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca called Kudus a ‘brilliant player’ after playing against West Ham United.

The Merseyside club are also looking to sign a new defender and they are confident about their chances of landing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
