Italian sources claim that Milan dream of signing Viktor Gyokeres, as the Rossoneri would be able to match Sporting CP’s asking price thanks to player sales, including Malick Thiaw and Alvaro Morata.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and SportMediaset report that Swedish striker Gyokeres has jumped to the top of Milan’s wishlist for the summer.
Director Igli Tare confirmed earlier this week that the Rossoneri were in the market for a new centre-forward and according to reports, Gyokeres ticks all the boxes at San Siro.
Gyokeres has a €100m clause, but according to the player’s representative, he has been promised to leave for circa €70m this summer.
SportMediaset notes that Milan would have the money to match the striker’s price tag, given that they’ve already sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City and will likely receive €40m more from Thiaw and Morata’s move to Como, as well as approximately €30m from Theo Hernandez’s transfer to Al-Hilal.
According to SportMediaset, the Rossoneri will soon have €144m available from player sales, allowing them to discuss the Gyokeres’ transfer. The Italian broadcasters claim that Milan will surely explore the deal.
Whether they can get it done, however, remains to be seen, as Arsenal and Manchester United remain interested in the 27-year-old and can naturally offer a higher salary.
Gyokeres is not their only target in attack anyway, as Tare and Massimiliano Allegri’s agenda includes the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Aleksandar Mitrović, Mateo Retegui, Breel Embolo, Gonçalo Ramos, Emanuel Emegha, Alexander Sørloth, and even Vangelis Pavlidis and Artem Dovbyk, all mentioned by Gazzetta and Sportmediaset.
