Report names Spurs | ‘Defensive rock’ with a ‘comanding presence’ tipped for Premier League switch

As stated previously, Tottenham’s backline is now a pressing concern, and that was before the suggestion was made that Cuti Romero could be heading off to sunny Spain. Spurs conceded far too many goals last term and made Premier League history by becoming the first side to lose 22 games and yet still not get relegated. Frankly surreal stuff for a side playing in a billion-pound stadium.

La Repubblica , amongst many, are reporting on the ongoing fallout at Internazionale this summer, which came off the back of Champions League and Club World Cup wash-outs. One of the names doing the rounds is that of defender Yann Bisseck, and as one might imagine, the list of suitors is considerable.

Everton, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham are all said to have had their interest piqued at this point, and it might be interesting to see if our old friend Fabio Paratici is anywhere to be seen in respect of discussions.

Looking at the 24-year-old’s radar, we can see immediately that the boy has class and plays more conservatively than Cuti Romero was employed under the lunatic Aussie. This may explain a less frenetic defensive actions segment, along with less involvement with progressive passing. That said, Bisseck offers more in the air and more in respect of duels.

What Tottenham might be expected to pay for Yann, described passionately here, is very interesting; according to Transfermarkt, his stock is currently north of £35 million, which is not excessive for an Italian Champion and Super Cup winner.

At just 20 years of age, there’s a distinct opportunity for a keen return on Daniel Levy’s investment, something not to be sniffed at, given the way the business and the football club are run in N17. So once again, we return to the same crossroads at Spurs, where we wait to see what our illustrious leader has in store for us all.
